Panda Waste: perfect RDF and SRF bales by Bollegraaf

At Bollegraaf we appreciate the fact that, like any other profit driven operation, the recycling industry is subject to economic drivers. Therefore, at Bollegraaf we aim to make your business as profitable as possible. We help you to sort your business. It’s that simple and it’s what we did for Panda Waste.

Panda Waste in Ireland has been a valued customer for quite some time. With a Bollegraaf HBC 140K and HBC 110 baler already employed, they involved us in finding a solution for producing a SRF product, which they intended to ship overseas. They wanted a baler that could bale 100,000 tonnes a year with a weight of 1.5 tonne and measuring 1,100 x 1,100 x 1,600 mm. They calculated that by achieving this weight they would be able to save 5-8 Euros per tonne on shipping costs alone.

The first thing we did was to run some trials of their SRF through the HBC 140 they already had lined up. What we achieved was a bale weight of 1.2 tonne per bale and a capacity of 30 tonne/hour. Not the result they were looking for. So we did the math and the next step was to offer them the highest capacity baler in the market: the HBC 180. Moreover we equipped it with an optional extra channel cylinder, that will theoretically increase the bale weightwith 20-25%.

Panda Waste viewed many balers from as many suppliers all claiming - and some even guaranteeing - to achieve 1.5 tonne per bale. However, Panda Waste never saw any proof of these claims. However, Bollegraaf was able to meet all their requirements for RDF and SRF, including PET and PT plastic wiring. So with the history and knowledge of the backup and service support from Bollegraaf’s own trained service engineers, Panda decided to buy the highest quality built baler on the market that they know to be very reliable and a baler that they know can do the job they need it to do.
