During the compaction process, the whole pressure (equal to the high pressure) is used on the cut-off channel. This is to compress the plastic as much as possible. While the bale is tied off, the pressure of the channel is reduced (to 0bar) to allow the bale to expand so that there will be less tension on the tie wires.
