Financial Controller

As a Financial Controller at Bollegraaf, you will have the opportunity to strengthen the financial heart of our organisation and at the same time further develop your skills. You will play a crucial role in monitoring our financial position and results, with a visible impact on our growth and success.

Location: Appingedam, NL

What will be your role?

You are the driving force behind reliable financial administration and future-oriented financial planning. With your sharp eye and analytical insight, you ensure a grip on the financial position and results of various parts within the Group. A dynamic role full of challenges and impact!

• Working together on results: Functionally managing an independent and close-knit team of 4 colleagues – focused on accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll administration and accounting.
• Reliable reporting: You will be responsible for preparing and presenting monthly, quarterly and annual reports and consolidating financial data from both domestic and foreign entities.
• Thorough financial statements: You prepare the annual accounts and ensure a correct and complete representation of the financial position of the organization. Together with external auditors, you will steer the annual audit in the right direction.
• Tight control: You monitor the financial reports and ensure that they comply with all laws and regulations.
• Ensuring financial health: You keep a close eye on the liquidity position and identify possible bottlenecks in a timely manner.

Based on your expertise, you are an indispensable link in this position between various stakeholders, both internally – management/holding/other departments – and externally – insurers, accountants and tax advisors. For example, you will be actively involved in expansions of the Group and you will take the lead in the implementation and design of a new financial reporting tool. In this position, you will report to the Finance and IT Manager.

What do you bring?

You are a driven and analytical financial who understands complex issues with ease and has a keen eye for improvement and detail. Thanks to your broad financial knowledge, you identify opportunities, make suggestions for improvement and are strong enough to give valuable advice that makes a difference. You are proactive, clear and no-nonsense. What to bring:

• A completed HBO or WO education in (business) economics, accountancy or controlling;
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position, preferably in a technical or manufacturing environment;
• An excellent command of Dutch and English, both orally and in writing;
• Strong Excel skills (experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX is an advantage).

• A salary between €4,300 and €5,600 gross per month, depending on knowledge and experience;
• 27 vacation days annually + 13 ADV days;
• Possibility to surrender 3, 6 or 9 days of ADV days for extra salary;
• The possibility to work partly from home (hybrid working);
