Official opening of Excoffier sorting plant in Haute-Savoie, France
Last Saturday, we attended the festive inauguration of Excoffier Recyclage’s brand-new single-stream sorting center in France.
The inauguration symbolically took place on the 6th Global Recycling Day; a day where awareness of the rapid pace at which we use natural resources is spread and the urgency to transition toward a circular economy is emphasized.
With a capacity of 46.000 tonnes a year (15 tonnes/hour), this brand-new single-stream sorting center of Excoffier serves as a cornerstone for the transition toward a circular economy in Haute-Savoie. This sorting center sorts the contents of the yellow bin of 1 million inhabitants. The yellow bin contains paper, cardboard, plastic, metal, and drink cartons (PMD). The waste composition of the yellow bin also changed since the start of 2023 with the introduction of new recyclables, such as yogurt pots, food trays, and more. This installation was designed to take these changes into account.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the official opening was done by the brothers Jean-Philippe & François Excoffier together with the president of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Laurent Wauquiez.
The ceremony was also attended by our CEO Edmund Tenfelde, our Director of Global Sales Charles Daridon, our Sales Manager Solutions France Nicolas Cavrois and our Project Managers Cedric Humblot and Claude Ciza.
Many thanks to the entire team who worked tirelessly to realize this project within the tight 12-month deadline. The result speaks for itself!
