Programmer / Operator

Are you technically savvy, a strong planner, and eager to work in a state-of-the-art factory? At Advanced Metal Solutions (AMS) in Emmen (NL), part of the Bollegraaf Group, we’re looking for a Programmer/Operator to keep our production running and optimized. The position is for a maximum of 32-40 hours per week.

What will be your role?

As a Programmer/Operator, you’ll translate customer orders into smart programs and efficient production. You’ll be responsible for programming our laser cutting machines, robotic bending cell, and press brakes, ensuring everything runs safely and with minimal material loss. You’ll combine technical insight with oversight, troubleshoot malfunctions, and guide operators.

We work with Trumpf and Durma machines and use Oseon Software and Microsoft AX, among other software.

Your main tasks

Programming laser cutting machines, robotic bending cells, and press brakes with Trumpf Oseon; assessing the feasibility of products.
Optimal use of materials through smart nesting and translation of the master plan into machine-specific detailed plans.
Start up and supervise production, including parameter settings and monitoring of sequence and lead time.
Troubleshooting and coordinating minor technical maintenance, including replacement of wearing parts.
Coordinate with work preparation, managers and Production Control on planning, progress and improvements.
Maintain contact with suppliers for software and machine updates and maintenance planning.
Provide work instructions, record procedures and transfer knowledge to operators and fellow programmers.
Advising on improvements, deployability and replacement or expansion of machines and software.

What do we expect from you?

You’re an independent and practical technician who maintains an overview, thinks ahead, and is energized by a smooth production process. You easily switch between programming, planning, and supporting on the shop floor and enjoy collaborating with operators and colleagues.

You also bring along:

MBO+ work and thinking level, preferably in metal technology, mechanical engineering or similar.
Experience with programming laser cutting and bending machines.
Independence and problem-solving skills in the event of malfunctions or deviations.
Working systematically and monitoring progress and priorities.
Good communication skills towards operators and work preparation.
Proficiency in Dutch and English (in connection with systems).
Attention to safety, order and cleanliness (PPE and 6S).

What do we offer?

At AMS we offer you a versatile position with the following conditions:

An employment contract at Advanced Metal Solutions for 32-40 hours per week;
You will receive a one-year contract (collective labor agreement for the Metal and Electrical Industry) with the intention to extend this to a permanent contract;
A gross salary of €3,400 to €4,300, depending on knowledge and experience;
27 vacation days annually + 13 Adv days based on full-time employment;
Option to surrender 3, 6 or 9 Adv days for extra salary;
Plenty of opportunities for training and personal development.
